Does anyone else hiccup randomly all the time?

Not an attack of hiccups, but just one single loud hiccup. Without any warning.

It happens to me at least once a day, usually more. Not related to eating or drinking, it seems completely random.

Happens in places like the supermarket, and people turn to look at me like I'm a drunk or something!

Why?

Yes without warning. The family are used to it, one dog comes over all concern, the other dog acts as if I've ruined his day and when I do it in public and people stare ,I just look behind me and stare accusingly at someone!

Ha good tip!

It is embarrassing. Wish I could find a way to stop it happening.

I would be gutted if it was pastry as I love a good pie (northern) and it might put me off them.

But for me there is no obvious cause.

I love a pasty (southern) and sometimes have a sneaky one when I do the grocery shopping. The hiccups when I walk through the door means I'm rumbled!

Ooh - I do this and have never thought too much about but... but never encountered anyone else who did it. Wierdly, when I was in labour I gave a single loud hiccup at the end of each contraction - for 27 hours!

My DD (17) has this. Usually around 20-25 times a day and we can't figure out the cause. The doctor started her on medication but it made her so out if it she just puts up with the hiccups now.
