Important question about shoes and socks

AnImaginaryCat · 05/09/2022 17:33

Those that are shoeless or sockless might want to look away for this.

Is it:

  • sock, sock, shoe, shoe
  • sock, shoe, sock, shoe.

I'm going to do that terrible thing where I don't say my choice in the OP. I just worried I'll sway public opinion if I do, .

OP posts:

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination · 05/09/2022 17:37

Sock sock when I get up and dressed

Shoe shoe when I leave the house.

Their could be 10 mins or 10 hours between the two.

This is the general rule for footwear.
Except, when my feet hurt, then it's sock, Birkenstock, sock, Birkenstock, and only then shoe, shoe.

Soubriquet · 05/09/2022 17:43

Sock sock shoe shoe

Atmywitsend29 · 05/09/2022 17:44

Sock sock shoe shoe.

UNLESS we are at a sandy beach, and then it's dust sand of, sock, shoe. Repeat. ;)

Sock sock shoe shoe. It’s not fair to the poor foot encased in a shoe while the other foot is still free.

Definitely.

Bytrgrewd · 05/09/2022 17:45

Sock shoe sock shoe (right first)

Pixiedust1234 · 05/09/2022 17:49

Both socks when I get up, both shoes when i leave the house. If floor is wet then sock, shoe. But if I had to say hypothetically then sock sock, shoe shoe.

The real question is which foot first? I always start with the left.

I don’t like wearing socks much. I rarely wear them at all. And take them off along with my shoes as I’d rather be barefoot at all times. In winter I tend to wear tights, but I like to take them off as soon as I can get under some blankets on the sofa.

My two youngest sons both prefer to have bare feet too. We got in from nursery this evening and the toddler insisted that his socks had to come off along with his shoes.

Sock sock shoe shoe (shoes often on several hours after the socks), except when at the swimming pool, beach etc

RampantIvy · 05/09/2022 19:05

In the house sock, sock, slipper, slipper.

When I go out I put my shoes/boots/trainers on.

I don't know anyone who puts shoes on in the bedroom when they get dressed.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 05/09/2022 19:17

Depends.

At home both socks on when getting dressed and shoes only when ready to leave the house.

In changing rooms at the pool/gym/work etc I would do sock shoe sock shoe to avoid my socks going on the grubby/wet floor.

snackcurator · 05/09/2022 19:18

Sock sock shoe shoe! Like PP I can't imagine one foot with sock and shoe and the other foot bare!
