What temperature should the house be with a baby?

I used to stress about this so much with my firstborn. I live in the tropics and it's so hot here I was really worried about overheating. It all just comes down to dressing them appropriately though. Having said that, I'd be concerned if the house was so cold that it was damp or mouldy or so hot that they were sweating when resting.

I think the advice at night is that the baby's room should be between 16 and 20 degrees at night, with 18 being the ideal. Obviously that's not always possible - most babies' rooms will have been over 20 this summer! I'm not aware there is any guidance during the day.

My children were born in North Yorkshire, no heating at night, they were fine.
