Experience of stomach ulcer type symptoms

Does anyone else feel you have to be severely ill to bother a GP these days?

I have self diagnosed a stomach ulcer! May not be of course but that's how it feels. It's been on and off for a while but painful enough I have been closed to tears today. Bad back pain as well.

Will they realistically give me lansoprazole or similar which didn't help before. Because I can just take paracetamol myself if there isn't much else a GP would do.

I'm on omeprazole for acid reflux that had damaged my throat lining in the end, it was pre covid and maybe I was lucky to get an under GP, plus appointments were in person and easier to get then! They've left me on it as other meds I take can make stomach acid worse, I can certainly feel if I miss more than one dose. I know not the same as a stomach ulcer but you have my sympathy op, it's so painful. You might have to be very insistent they help which I can't believe I'm saying, you shouldn't have to be! Say it's effecting your quality of life Flowers

Thanks @Ivyy that sounds like bad acid reflux. I have started getting acid reflux a little but can usually dodge it by avoiding foods that trigger it. Years of it sounds miserable.
Im tired because pain is worse at night, although hasn't eased much today. My GP surgery was only for urgent matters today and had closed the non urgent online referral so I'll try tomorrow.
