Silly bed bug anxiety

I have had quite severe anxiety with obsessive thinking in the past, which is thankfully well managed now with medication. One of the things I used to fixate on was contamination and infestations (a bit weird I know). I didn't go on holiday for a long time because of this.

Anyway, I am now spending my first night away for many years. There is no evidence of bugs in this room, but I feel so anxious about the possibility! I'm laying here sweating and planning how I will manage my bags once I get home next week. How likely is it that bed bugs are in any given hotel room in the UK? I gather it's actually more common than people might think. But people go away all the time and don't worry about it! Argh, I just want to enjoy my break... I thought I was past this :(

I don't think it will help you to be reassured re bed bugs. Are you getting help from your GP? Difficult I know given the wait times etc.
