Can you fix my fridge freezer?

Since new it’s always had condensation in big droplets on the back wall and it pools at the bottom or freezes into a sheet of ice and locks the drawer in. It’s set to 4’ and I think it’s always been blocked since new, but due to covid etc it’s out of warranty. Wondering if there’s anything I can do to fix it, pay for an engineer or just get a new one. We had to get another under counter fridge as this makes stuff like salad go off in a day. Tried unblocking the hole at the back once with hot water, doesn’t see, to do anything

Don't use water - that will only make the problem worse, as it still won't drain and you'll end up with even more ice. Get something thin and flexible (straw/pipe cleaner) and poke into the hole. You should be able to go in a few cm.
My guess is that there's debris in there.

Thanks, google had told me previously it was blocked with ice, will try the pipe cleaner……

I used a calpol syringe to unblock after letting it defrost. I left it a day or so before turning it back on and haven't had any issues since.

I've got the same problem but just end up with a pool of water at bottom of fridge every couple of days.

Wow might have just fixed mine. Tried the straw & it only went down a bit so cut straw in half (thought maybe drain went narrower further down) & straw went in further & brought a load of gunk out trapped in curve of straw.

The fan may be stuck, we have taken the inside panel off and defrosted with a hairdryer before. The engineer that repaired it showed us how to do it.

Did you sort it, @WavePlant?

Is it a hoover by any chance? I forever used to have this problem with my old under counter hoover fridge.

I never resolved it. I bought a new fridge freezer when we moved house.
