Is it worth claiming on insurance?

We discovered yesterday that our dishwasher has been leaking. We only noticed as the living room carpet was damp next to the kitchen door. DH took up a bit of the laminate flooring and it was soaked, all the way down to the floor boards. More or less the whole kitchen floor had to be taken up & all wet.
I phoned our insurance company today but they only took the details and said someone will get back to me tomorrow. The floor boards are drying today, but I'm not sure if they could be damaged due to the water?
I'm just wondering if its something worth doing or will they take it seriously
TIA

Get the extent of the damage then weigh it up if it’s a minor recent leak then chances are floor boards will dry
laminate floor it more are less done once it gets wet floor boards should be ok unless leak going f or r a long time and they are starting to rot

All the laminate is outside to go to the dump. Not sure how bad the floor boards are. Thanks
