What age do you stop labelling school clothes?

Worried that sticking name tags on stuff might look babyish

But on the other hand, the uniform was bloody expensive!

Never! If you're worried about babyish name tags (although there'll be loads of kids with them), use a laundry marker to scribble in everything.

As a teacher in a secondary school NEVER STOP!

Last year we had hundreds and hundreds of pounds of uniform lost due to no names. Luckily we could wash and send to the local uniform exchange but it's ridiculous how much we get handed in with no name.

Please label senior school stuff, it goes missing all the time, including coats and even shoes after PE.

Nobody else is going to see the name tag.

After university. They lose anything not attached to their person!

Picklypickles · 04/09/2022 10:39

Never, I don't use labels anymore though I just use a fabric pen to write their names on the labels inside the clothes. There'd be no way of knowing which identical jumper/cardigan belonged to which child without the names written in them!

When they leave school!
