Anyone watching Liz Truss on BBC?

She just looks blank when asked questions . I wasn't panicking about the winter before but watching this I'm starting to think we really are doomed. She's got no ideas at all.

I don't know why she is not answering the basic question regarding energy prices. Surely she could explain what will happen should she be ejected.

Assume you mean elected but ejected would be better!

she is worse than Boris.

great news for Labour though. At least Boris had a bit of charisma. She has zero.

lickenchugget · 04/09/2022 09:19

Blank is absolutely spot on.

How in earth did she get the Tory press on side, she is vacuous.

She is nothing but a self-serving careerist, who's always aimed to be PM, regardless of what she had to say or do to get there. No substance, no integrity.

She's a disgrace to women, to the British people and also to her parents.

At least she'll make the Tories unelectable.

stillherenow · 04/09/2022 09:24

I just can't believe within all those MPs she made it to the top! Her interviewing style is as bad as I imagine mine would be . I don't mind if she presents badly but she has absolutely nothing to say.

Good. The Tories deserve to be doomed.

hopeishere · 04/09/2022 09:28

She's robotic and has a really weird way of talking sooooo slowly.

She also doesn't know what wherewithal means...

HonorHiding · 04/09/2022 09:30

She is utterly clueless.

Q: What is your plan for the NHS?
A: My job is to appoint a Health Secretary and ask them to produce a plan.

FFS!

Undermearmour · 04/09/2022 09:31

She is a little puppet who will just do what she is told by businesses and the wealthy. What did Bojo say about the press was his real employer, not the public?

I do also think she is being set up to fail like Theresa May was. Then some other old buffoon will be waiting in the wings to save the day when the wheels fall off ala Bojo and Brexit.

eyeoresancerre · 04/09/2022 09:34

Yes elected not ejected! Joe Lycett was very funny just now!

cakeorwine · 04/09/2022 09:39

Let me be clear.
She understands the situation.

She thinks it's fair to give rich people money back via tax cuts and NI cuts.

That is a good clip for Labour

eyeoresancerre · 04/09/2022 09:43

It did make me feel a bit sick when she said that.

stillherenow · 04/09/2022 09:46

She doesn't recognise that by giving money back to everyone inflation will just go up and up because not everyone needs help to pay their bills.

But for her it's all about growth, so let the rich carry on spending . So simplistic .

And Rishi's clueless too. Help 'everyone' then extra help to low incomes and pensioners .

No, help needs to be targeted to mid / low earners (including pensioners ).

OP posts:
PrinceOfPegging · 04/09/2022 09:58

It frustrates me when all pensioners are encompassed together. Any support should be means tested, there are plenty of pensioners with very very good final salary pensions who are much better off than the lower and squeezed middle.

Jansobieski · 04/09/2022 09:58

Knows what a woman is though 🙄

Daisychainsandglitter · 04/09/2022 11:35

She's a gift to Labour.
The only thing I can hope is that at the next election the Tories are in the wilderness for years. The my certainly deserve to be after what they've put the country through in the last decade.

Yes elected not ejected! Joe Lycett was very funny just now!

A few people on Twitter apparently didn’t realise that he was being sarcastic.
LK didn’t really know how to handle it.

BEAM123 · 04/09/2022 12:08

She always says, in a patronising tone "Well I don't have the details".

I mean, in fairness, I'm not good myself on having details on the tip of my tongue, I would need to go away and look them up, but I would ask for questions ahead of time so I can prepare, or say I will forward (or in her case publish) full details. And I also wouldn't go into a career in politics where you should be able to answer on the hoof!

But for me it's as petty as not being able to deal with her weird arm movements.

GreenLunchBox · 04/09/2022 12:18

Tory Laura didn't even try to hide her bias as usual: "Emily Thornberry- who's smirking over there..."

Fuck me. We are finished

Zippedydoo123 · 04/09/2022 12:45

She just looks the epitome of evil to me. Completely devoid of any soul.

LessonForAll · 04/09/2022 12:55

I'd feel much more reassured if it was Rishi, when will we find out?

I think she got this far to make Rishi more palatable to the racist voters

hopeful

hewouldwouldnthe · 04/09/2022 13:11

I'm utterly confused about why she is likely to be elected. Bonkers. RS by far the better candidate

We find out tomorrow who's won. I wonder if we will get info on how many votes they got or just who is the winner.
