How do I switch off from work? (Sensitive topic)

I work with disabled children, some are very poorly. It is likely (very sadly) that at some point in the near future that I will have to deal with losing one of them. It is beginning to affect my mental health worrying about this. I can’t switch off - when I’m not at work I’m thinking about work.

I just needed to get that out and wonder if anyone can help me with any coping strategies?

Op I really relate to you and your post makes me a bit teary. I work in social care. It's very hard to switch off I understand so clearly how you are feeling. I have made sone decisions in the past which have put my service users above my own well-being and career progression.
They are children and we love them and their families and we try our best.
I think dealing with children passing away routinely must be very very hard. Not everyone could do it. Hats off to you and big hugs xx
