Any police / ex police out there?

Hi. I’ve had a really rough week with my ASD teen daughter and it has required police involvement. For the first incident, there were two primary officers involved and they were brilliant. I had planned to send them a thank you card with some Starbucks gift cards. Before I had chance to do that though, we had a second incident that involved more police officers but all from the same station I gather. They were also brilliant. But now I’m wondering what to do by a thank you? Send the whole station a big box of chocolates? Crispy Kreme order? They all really made an extremely stressful situation that little bit more manageable with their kindness and humanity. If you are a police officer, what would you appreciate? Thanks.

I’m a retired cop. Seriously the nicest thing you can do is write to their boss (Inspector or Superintendent) and explain how brilliant they were and the difference it made to you and your daughter. Maybe in a nice “thank you” card. It’ll be shared with them and probably added to their personnel record. Also it’ll make their day, knowing they made a difference and were appreciated. Thanks for wanting to express your thanks and good luck to you and your daughter.

Just write a nice letter. Gifts have to be declared and approved by senior management, the hassle it involves takes the shine off it.

Similar. I emailed via the link on their page. Never had any acknowledgement but I assume it found the right place. Not sure sending cakes etc would get there?
