Yes in psychosomatic way which is good enough for me.

Allschoolsareartschools · 03/09/2022 18:13

I have & I'd say it works because you think it's worked iyswim.
It's harmless & the results seem pretty instant. Good stuff & really cheap in Savers if you're near one.

CharlotteSt · 03/09/2022 18:16

It may well be psychosomatic but I still credit it for getting me through my driving test (and a few other wee crises over the years).

KangFang · 03/09/2022 18:31

No.
Had no effect whatsoever.

Roselilly36 · 03/09/2022 18:40

Yes, I have found it helpful at stressful times, during bereavement, family funerals etc. I think it has an alcohol content, tastes like brandy, but you only have a few drops on your tongue.

IheartBTS · 03/09/2022 18:41

I also found it helpful, even if it was psychosomatic. It helped me get through my driving test and other stressful times.

ImEasyLikeSundayMorning · 03/09/2022 18:42

Yes, I love it.

The Placebo effect is proven to be very effective and it worked for me.

SunshineClouds1 · 03/09/2022 18:44

Yeah it's helped me

Mossstitch · 03/09/2022 18:52

Yes, but I don't believe it is just placebo effect. I heard RSPCB use it on birds, that can't be placebo 🐦😂 I found the more individualised ones work better though, used vervain and mimulus at variius times for different things. Some of those with a child who didn't know I'd given them and worked🤷

ShebaQueen · 03/09/2022 18:56

Yes, I have used it before giving presentations at work and it's really helped. Someone from HR recommended it to me, she said that many of the team use it for stressful situations such as disciplinaries or redundancy consultations.

I like the spray version best.

Sandysandwich · 03/09/2022 19:00

My driving test instructor told me the person who went before me had taken in so much of it in the few hours before his test that he was almost over the legal limit for alcohol.
I don't know how true that was but it put me off the idea of taking it.

cicatrix1 · 03/09/2022 20:29

I tried it a few times ...ok This works sleep pillow spray for me works a lot better.

DrNo007 · 03/09/2022 20:32

I haven’t used it but my mum has and says it works for her.

PAFMO · 03/09/2022 20:33

It works for me, even if it is "only" a placebo.

ofwarren · 03/09/2022 20:38

How does a placebo work if you KNOW its a placebo and its not actually doing anything?

MrsVoog · 03/09/2022 20:41

It is absolutely rubbish homeopathy nonsense for goodness sake.

Moonflower12 · 03/09/2022 20:45

It works for me. And has for friends etc who've had a sudden shock such as a bereavement.

I also use the more specific flower remedies. If I can't sleep, White Chestnut works brilliantly to calm the mind.

Wombatbum · 03/09/2022 20:48

Only ever used for my driving test - I passed though!

erinaceus · 03/09/2022 20:49

I understood that it worked because it extracts of whatever suspended in grape alcohol (?)
I don’t know why the placebo effect works when you know it is a placebo but I swear by ecanacia for a cold when there isn’t really any evidence that it is effective.

blobby10 · 03/09/2022 20:53

Has worked for members of my family and me too- don’t know why or how and don’t care of it was the placebo effect !! It did what it needed to! Just because science and the medical profession can’t explain or understand how something works doesn’t mean it doesn’t work- humans aren’t meant to know everything in the world !!

RoseAndRose · 03/09/2022 20:57

Yes

And it worked - mix of placebo and brandy (which is what it mainly is)

CousinLucy · 03/09/2022 20:58

Yes.

soundsystem · 03/09/2022 20:58

Ohpaella · 03/09/2022 18:09

Yep, same!

Absolutely, but the placebo effect does still work, even if you know that!

Camdenish · 03/09/2022 21:00

Yes, but I realise it is the placebo effect.

We ran out and I was so upset that DH gave me a nip of the good brandy. Sticking to that in future.
