Leeds beckett Uni - no accom? Anybody else stressing about uni accom

My daughter is due to start uni in 2 weeks. No accommodation and we on a waiting list. I'm on pins.
Anyone have any experience of this? Do places still come free at this late stage?

Dd was on a waiting list elsewhere. While there wasn’t a formal appeal process she did contact the uni explaining that if they could not provide accommodation she would need to defer. That was on a Friday and an offer of a room miraculously appeared on the following Monday afternoon. I do think some
unis have clearly over-offered and also got greedy about bums on seats and need to be held accountable for this, especially where they have guaranteed accommodation for first years in their publicity material.

I do, but have no specific advice for that Uni. I live in NI, but kids at Uni in Dublin ROI. It's been a nightmare for several years now, but it has worked out. We've had to do short term B&B a few times. After starting in Uni, they get to be part of a network, and might be able to find something not typically listed. But it is really stressful. It's also a huge distraction for students, when then need to settle in and start studies, they are concerned about accommodation instead. Wishing you all the best!!
