Fussy water what to order at wagamamas?

I have a gift card to use for wagamama. I live Chinese food but never had Japanese food before as not keen on fish or raw foods. I normally have the chicken or veg option as can be super fussy especially about my meat 😬 Any suggestions? I don't mind a bit of spice of heat hut not mouth burning 🔥😂

Yaki Udon with chicken & shrimp is my go to

BestCatMumEver · 03/09/2022 15:45

I’m not vegan but the vegan kare burosu ramen is just amazing.

Chicken katsu curry should suit you!

Alarae · 03/09/2022 15:51

I feel like the Chicken Katsu Curry is made for you.

JohnsShirt · 03/09/2022 15:54

Chicken katsu will be fine for you.
It's really not an adventurous eating place, neither is Yo Sushi as I've told a few friends who are convinced it's all raw octopus.

Bernadinetta · 03/09/2022 15:54

I’m a picky vegetarian and I get the Yasai Yaki Soba with no ginger

Hobbesmanc · 03/09/2022 15:55

The Phad Thai is great.

Applebark · 03/09/2022 16:01

I was going to suggest firecracker chicken but you said no burning but it is very flavoursome. Any of the noodle ramens are good.

modgepodge · 03/09/2022 16:25

I don’t think there’s any raw fish or sushi on the menu at wagamama!

as above chicken katsu curry, or ginger chicken udon, pad Thai, yaki soba are all good safe options.

GingerAndLemonn · 03/09/2022 16:30

The shirodashi soup is nice but wagamamas isn’t really that great. If you like it and want to try more Japanese food, find a small restaurant run by actual Japanese people. Proper Japanese food is amazing!

SquirrelFan · 03/09/2022 16:55

Ginger chicken udon is delicious and very 'safe'!

BarbaraofSeville · 03/09/2022 17:10

Have you looked at the menu? Wagamama don't sell much fish or anything raw except salad, it's mainly chicken and noodles or rice or vegan alternative so fairly unadventurous.

If you look on the website, there's pictures of all the food so you can see what it looks like and most things aren't super spicy but you can always check when you order to make sure.

Chicken Katsu

raindon · 03/09/2022 17:16

Have you had a little look at the menu online? They do massive bowls of rice which are nice. Or the katsu.

TeddyBeans · 03/09/2022 17:17

Katsu curry or teriyaki udon. Yum yum!

Notonthestairs · 03/09/2022 17:19

I love everything at Wagamama.

For you I'd order grilled chicken ramen. It's essentially chicken noodle soup.

NoSquirrels · 03/09/2022 17:20

If you like Chinese food you’ll like everything on the menu at Wagamama. It’s not a sushi place at all.

mummyh2016 · 03/09/2022 17:21

Try the beef brisket don buri.

MadameMinimes · 03/09/2022 17:27

Wagamama sells pretty middle of the road, inoffensive fare. There will be plenty on the menu for a fussy eater. I think Japanese food in general tends to suit fussy eaters. It’s mild and savoury in a way that tends to suit the typical British palate.

OopsTooLate · 03/09/2022 17:36

Agree with chicken katsu, my Dd1 is fussy and loves it, you can even ask for katsu sauce in a separate bowl.

Bettyboo12 · 03/09/2022 18:01

Thank you, yes did look at the menu but struggling to choose as nothing overly stands out to me so just want something safe but tasty 😬
