Holiday in Feb/March?

Posting here for traffic as google not providing much by the way of inspiration!

On mat leave and dreaming about a holiday. Probably Feb/March time. Would prefer to spend most of the day outside so needs to be warmer than the UK but doesn't need to be super warm.

Will have a 3.5 year old and a 6 month old so needs some stuff to entertain the big one...!

Anyone got any ideas? How warm would Southern Europe be? South Africa looks appealing but where? We're generally more countryside/scenery fans than city people. Skiing not an option this year as I think both kids will be too little.

We’re currently looking at Tenerife, Florida will be nice weather then as well.

one of the canaries, although given your skiing comment I’m not sure you’d be appreciated there.
take yourself off to Marrakech

We enjoyed Barbados and Ghana in January/February
Portugal was okay but cool as was Lanzarote and California

We are next off to Thailand in January weather looks good had looked at Bali but it's rainy season. Due to work, we tend to have our big holiday in January.

Holidays I’ve enjoyed in Feb are Cape Town (twice), Dominican Republic, Disney in LA and then a cruise to Pacific side of Mexico, Tenerife lots of times, Miami and a cruise to Bahamas and Virgin Islands.

I forgot Dubai.

QforCucumber · 03/09/2022 15:43

We do Tenerife at the end of feb and always around 22-24 degrees

pearandsausage · 03/09/2022 17:39

Thanks all, some places I hadn't thought about that need a bit of research!

I'm a bit unsure about long haul because of time difference and jet lag...!

Is there stuff to do in Tenerife other than pool/beach @QforCucumber

DH and I like skiing @Brendabigbaps but not sure DS will and think that 3.5 probably a bit young to try him (he's not very adventurous).

Did you stay in the city in Cape Town @FloppyFlippy? I've been but only stayed in the city and would probably want an easy pace of life and a beach but googling that got a bit overwhelming!

Yes I stayed at the The Table Bay at the waterfront Waterfront and Hotel Protera President in Bantry Bay, the second hotel would work really well when your DC are a bit older.

I dont think 3.5 is too early for skiing if you put him into a program that is a play in the snow with skis and then go back to the babysitting for hot choc type program. I would go somewhere English speaking though. Have you thought of East Coast US. Lots of lovely family friendly resorts, Smugglers Notch is one, Sunday River another.
