I’ve got a whole week to myself

Well, sort of. I’ll be working ft (part in the office, part at home). My DH has just booked his first overseas work trip since covid hit (and he switched to permanent wfh), in two weeks’ time. It includes a weekend. Yes of course I’ll miss him, but I am so excited for a few days of watching my favourite films, booking a beauty treatment, and stocking up on M&S treats (and not cooking at all). What would you do to treat yourself if you had a few days to yourself?!

Watch loads of trashy tv, go for a walk at lunchtime/after work and eat food he doesn't like 😁

Bliss! Enjoy 🥳

Oh, my DH used to have a week long conference abroad every year and I loved it.
I used to take some time off work, basically half days, to look after the dog.
I would have the week planned out - drop him at the airport Friday evening then off to get some shopping in just for me. I would have a new book ready to go, get some naice wool to do a small knit ( usually something for DH).
I loved the fact that if I wanted to take the dog to the beach to watch the sunset then have cerial for dinner that was ok.
I'd make sure I saw friends most days too.
Enjoy !

Thanks! Unfortunately due to other holidays in my team I can’t take any a/l that week, so will just have to do my normal days, but at least I don’t have to drop him off at the airport as his work pays for airport parking. Definitely going to enjoy just deciding if I want to nip to the shops or go for a nice walk/jog or just crash on the sofa watching tv if I feel like. Not that I can’t do that now anyway, but I don’t have to check on someone else’s plans before I do something. Will definitely be catching up with friends in any case.
I might start a spreadsheet of plans!

My DH used to travel quite a lot, I had youngish DC so would sort them out an easy tea and or get a couple of takeaway during the week. I’d stock up on cheese, olives, mini bottles of wine and chocolate and binge my favourite tv shows. I’d always have a friend over one evening. Sometimes I’d go out for a big lunch and completely miss doing myself a dinner and order my kids a pizza.
