Help please! All I want is a simple answer! Google is not giving me that! Anyone in the know about London Underground please?

I’d be so grateful for a simple, straight forward easy answer!

I need to get from Euston to Romford.
I have an incline that I need to get from Euston to Liverpool Street….. can I do this on an underground? If so which? Is it far from Euston train station?
Then Liverpool Street to Romford.

So my question is: Euston to Liverpool st, which colour line, which line, how many stops between the two?

Liverpool street, is the underground near the train station or do I need to leave the building to find it?

(I CANNOT read maps, the underground map looks like a mass of lines and swirls to my dyslexic, dyscalclia brain hence the simple ask)

Thank you for your kind patience, it’s simple to most, really really not to me.

You need to download Citymapper app will tell you the route times and can even set your alarm for your stop

Zosime · 03/09/2022 10:30

Or use the journey planner on www.tfl.gov.uk.

GetOffTheRoof · 03/09/2022 10:30

I use the TFL Go app. Attached is the route it recommends if you leave now (for example).

Northern line (black one) from Euston to Moorgate and then a short 5 min walk from mortgage to Liverpool Street

MummyInTheNecropolis · 03/09/2022 10:32

*Moorgate obvs, not mortgage!

Thinkle · 03/09/2022 10:32

Go to Euston Square, to do this you exit Euston station by the main exit and bearing slightly right and cross the big main road. Look for the underground signs across the road

then get on the metropolitan line (maroon) to Liverpool Street, 5 stops and maybe 12 minute

Is a screenshot like this helpful?

Or TfL journey planner website. Looks like it’s a short walk to Euston Square station then circle line (yellow) 5 stops to Liverpool Street then change on to Elizabeth line to Romford.

MindPalace · 03/09/2022 10:35

From Euston take the Northern line southbound to Moorgate. It’s the City branch of the Northern line, not the Charing Cross branch.

Get off at Moorgate. You can then walk underground to Liverpool Street (you will pass the Elizabeth line). So no need to take another tube/train from Moorgate.

When you walk up from the underground at Liverpool Street, you will be inside the train station.

good luck - it’s easy I promise!

TrueNorthernBird · 03/09/2022 11:18

Either the Euston Sq option as above or, if you dont feel confident walking between Euston and Euston Sq stations..

Take the Northern Line southbound from Euston to Tottenham Court Road (black line) OR Victoria Line (pale blue line)southbound from Euston to Oxford Circus. Either will get you to the Central Line (red line). Take that eastbound to Liverpool St.

You don't have to leave Liverpool St Underground Station to get to the main line station.

Swimmingpoolsally · 03/09/2022 11:24

Download tube map I did it last week you put in start and stop and it tells you how to do it.

itsnotdeep · 03/09/2022 11:26

I use the Citymapper app.

sm40 · 03/09/2022 11:40

City mapper is your friend. Click on the instructions and it gives you a map. Can choose bus options, step free etc!

Halsall · 03/09/2022 11:52

Not sure whether this is too late, @ColinRobinsonsfamiliar, but I’d go to Euston Square and go direct to Liverpool Street myself. Euston Square is literally a couple of minutes' walk from Euston mainline station and it will take you directly to where you want to go - no problems with changing tube lines. I promise you it’s incredibly easy. Any eastbound train from there goes to Liverpool St - so just board any train that’s going in that direction. As PPs have said, it’s 5 stops.

To get to Euston Square from Euston Station, you exit Euston Station concourse, and do the short walk I've marked on the map - it might look like a long way but it really isn’t! There are two ways into Euston Square station, one on each side of the road, so you can stay on the same side as Euston Station ( I haven’t used that entrance for a while, but if they’ve closed it for any reason, don’t worry, there’s a bigger entrance literally opposite).

Hope that’s helpful.

As an alternative you can put Euston to Romford into search field in googlemaps & click on public transport tab to pick up recommended routes.

Apps etc always seem to direct you to the underground but I prefer buses - much less likely something will go wrong with payment as you only have to tap once not in and out, easier to access and not got that horrid stinky stale air thing. (I also ended up stuck in a crowd in one of the old Victorian lines once when the escalators failed... not great trying to get out of there so I will always avoid if there is a sensible bus option.) Google says number 205 bus if you want to go for that option.

With Citymapper you can choose the transport mode bus tube bike or walk
