Clothes for a 75 year old man

My dad has spent his entire life in smart trousers, shorts and sweaters from M and S. I'd love to help him wear more casual clothes but he's worried about looking ridiculous in clothes that look too young for him.

Can anyone recommend any smart jogger type trousers, jackets, hoodies or places to try?

Thanks

Next do a trouser jogger.

I had the same with my grandparents. My granddad died in hospital in trousers and a shirt and jumper, sometimes if it’s not broken there’s no need to mend it.

Can also recommend zip ups without a hood he liked that and didn’t think it was a hoodie. He didn’t understand the need for hoods when there were hats. Honestly a different generation!

Thank you! I'll have a look at the trouser joggers!

My dad is a similar age, he also lives in M&S trousers, a shirt, often a blazer and practically ALWAYS a tie, even just to our house.

Sometimes he wears a bow tie, just because he likes them.

Rather than trying to casual-him-up I have bought him thinks to soup up his current look: a monogrammed tie pin, fancy ties, a cashmere jumper to wear over a shirt under a blazer, fancy socks...

He was most pleased with his first bow tie.

Does he actually want to wear joggers and hoodies?

Cotton Traders or Edinburgh Woollen Mill (are they still going?) sell casual clothes for the slightly older generations.

*things, not thinks.

You can get trouser-shaped joggers in M&S, Next etc I think.

I have to say, I'd never try to get my 75 year old dad to wear hoodies and joggers - he'd feel ridiculous. He insists on a collar, and the most casual trousers he'll wear are cords. He's comfortable, I don't see the need to encourage him to lower his standards.

My DF in his 80's likes Next cargo type trousers in the green colour. They look smart but also more tendy/casual? He will also wear jeans. But he is happy in his shirts and a jumper and the odd T shirt.
Next do a more modern looking zip neck jumper which looks smart with the jeans. He also wears trainers but more for his feet good quality walking trainers.
