Where to eat in Manchester?

Booking a birthday meal out in 2 weeks. I live nearby but don’t eat out that often and if it’s just DH and I we love curry, thai food, tapas etc. BUT my lovely 90 year old grandmother is coming who’s a staunch ‘British food’ eater!
Any suggestions for somewhere nice to eat, not too expensive (happy to pay a decent amount but not Australasia level) with some British type food (happy for a mix of foods not just British!) I’m not snobby or fussy :) city centre ideally.
thanks!

Dukes 92 is fab. Went last weekend - great menu, brilliant atmosphere, plenty of space and parking right outside.
