(TW domestic abuse) reporting to social services

I have a Facebook friend who is someone I went to school with, we were never close friends then and I haven't physically seen her for 20ish years.
She's posted on Facebook today pictures of her kids with bruises and cuts, saying they've been caused by the children's father and she has reported to Social Services herself and the children are still allowed to stay with him.

Can I report to social services myself as I feel so bad for the children seeing them like this, the oldest is 11 and the youngest is around 2 and they're covered in bruises in a range of photos.

I know the mums full name and the kid's names but not where they live, apart from the town.

As long as you know the council area you can report. Most referrals are already known to services!

If you know the school that's handy to pass on.

Thank you, I can see the school from uniform photos on Facebook I think. I will find the council page and report, I can't bear the thought of something terrible happening and not having tried.
