You only had 3 days to spend it
what would you buy?

savings / investing in stocks etc / gifting not allowed

Can I buy a house? Around here that would get me a pretty large 4 bed in a decent enough area.

Hawkins001 · 01/09/2022 23:44

All the equipment to run my eBay business startup, easy to burn through the capital in three days.

bloodywhitecat · 01/09/2022 23:45

A house. I am in rented and would love the security of a home.

Could I sell my current house and keep any money I make and add it on? I'd buy a house with a garden and decent storage. I'd pay back my mum the money she lent me for my first car.

Justanotherwinter · 01/09/2022 23:45

If you could buy a house in a week
round here I’d get a shed for that 🤣
but I’d probably end up buying a decent caravan / lodge

Meant to say 3 days! I’ve never bought a house but can’t imagine it being fast

Few pieces of good jewelry/watches. Easy to swap back for cash if/when needed.

Didicat · 01/09/2022 23:47

Land for a small holding and a motor home.

Suzi9989 · 01/09/2022 23:48

Beach hut!

carefullycourageous · 01/09/2022 23:49

An electric camper van £80k
A full set of amazing pans £650
A cinema setup £3k (guess)
A top-notch tent £2k
Some trees in pots £3k
A new front door £1k

Stuck now... I don't really want much. Chick peas are going up in price so maybe a huge bulk order!

MondayMoan · 01/09/2022 23:50

New car. Second home. Don't judge me. 🤣

carefullycourageous · 01/09/2022 23:50

Oh beach hut good call but very expensive. Maybe boat £80k.

Also I saw a lovely swing seat at a garden which when I googled was more than £5k. Mental. I'll have one of those.

QuestionableMouse · 01/09/2022 23:51

Bigger car for my sister.
Book a fabulous holiday for my parents
Let my nephews loose in a big toy shop 😂
Buy a model I've been wanting for ages
Holiday for me too!

whatwhhat · 01/09/2022 23:52

Pay off most of a house! But keep a couple of grand to book a few holidays!

Soproudoflionesses · 01/09/2022 23:52

Round the world holiday

EsmeShelby · 01/09/2022 23:54

Pay off the mortgage, buy a new car, book a holiday .

Doodledeedum · 02/09/2022 00:11

A house, car and invest in stock

KateBushyTail · 02/09/2022 00:21

Oh this is fun!

A Tom Ford perfume
every bit of Charlotte Tillbury makeup that I want
a naice winter coat

and then I would have maybe £248,000 left to spend. Oops

Sprogletsmum2 · 02/09/2022 00:22

New, really comfortable beds for us all with new comfortable and warm bedding.
A new car that I won't have to worry it's going to die on me.
Pay off all my debts.
Clothes for the dc
Decent furniture that actually fits my house
A carpet for the stairs would be nice
New laptop for my uni work instead of the very very slow one I use now
Merlin passes
And a holiday

MissingNashville · 02/09/2022 00:26

Heating bill and a weekly shop....it might not actually be enough...😅

OhThatChicken · 02/09/2022 00:34

Garden building I could use as a home gym, packed with lots of equipment and a funky tv to watch while I do it.

Big outdoor kitchen.

New car.

Book several big holidays.

All the tech for me, DC, DH, parents, in-laws, cousins etc - top of the range phones, laptops, games consoles etc.

Get my loft fully insulated. Living the dream ;)

PlanetNormal · 02/09/2022 00:37

Buy a house, obviously. Here in the East Midlands, £250k will stretch to a 3 bed semi in a decent area.

SprinkleOfSunak · 02/09/2022 00:44

I’d invest around £100,000 starting up a restaurant or café business.

I’d pay £135,000 off of my mortgage. It’d still be a fairly large mortgage, but this amount of money would make a great dent in it.

I’d use £15,000 to pay off a family loan and credit cards etc.

By doing all of the above, I would be able to quit my career, which I’m truly and utterly fed up with.

PeloDramatic · 02/09/2022 00:45

I would use it to stock up on stuff boring but helpful and replace existing

New car with a service plan (thinking ahead and using up the money!)
Book a kitchen and bathroom refit (if I pay upfront that's got to count?!)
New sofa
ALL the candles addicted
Stock up on my beauty products so buy everything I use regularly plus all the stuff on my notes wish list
Booths for nice food! And take my dad so he could stock up
Wardrobes for my spare room
Linen bedding
New bras and would get all the matching knickers Grin
Book a sports massage block

Think that's it. Anyone who says that isn't it all spent, hasn't seen my beauty/candle collection Blush

PeloDramatic · 02/09/2022 00:45

Oh and would have enough to pay off my mortgage too
