TK Maxx price labels - harder to remove than a tattoo!

Just bought some lovely gifts from TK Maxx for 2 upcoming birthdays. Was feeling pleased with myself at my choices.

Then I got home and started trying to remove the price labels.....

I find that the TK max ones come off best in water. That is if you can submerge the item. I recently bought some plates from there.
To get rid of any sticky residue, either use baby oil or skin so softly (Avon) works a treat. Just dad or spray on and rub of with a cloth.

Thanks for the tips

Water ok for crockery etc but not so good for items inside cardboard boxes and stationary etc

I said exactly this last week. It comes off in separate little bits. If you buy a few things at once it's a 20 minute job!

It is annoying. Sometimes people have shopped around because they are on a tight budget. The want nice gifts at a reasonable price but it is spoilt if a label only half comes off and leaves a nasty mark. Shops that advertise themselves as about 60% less than usual retail price should be aware of their market and not make it difficult for budget conscious shoppers to use items from their shop as gifts

They're appalling! And have been for years. I've had a couple of boxed presents spoiled because the label took off the surface of the box. I know I can mess about with essential oils and such like but I really shouldn't have to!

The labels with a little blue raindrop on them come off in water

Try heating them up with a hairdryer

They are annoying but I think they are probably made to br hard to get off so that customers don't take them off and swap over for cheaper ones

StopFeckingFaffing · 01/09/2022 18:18

I'm sure you are right @DeanStockwelll but you'd think after all the years TK Maxx have been trading they could come up with a happy medium somewhere between labels that can easily be peeled off in a single go and labels which require 20 minutes of scratching, scraping and wiping to remove!
