Best reasonably priced vacuum cleaner

SameToo · 01/09/2022 15:56

Vacuum has given up on me and currently between jobs so not a lot of cash floating around to replace it.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced, powerful vacuum. Preferably smaller.

TIA

Depends whether you want hand held or plug in.

FlowerArranger · 01/09/2022 16:07

Hetty - smaller version of Henry.

Very powerful.
No fancy features - very simple to use.
Solid - I've had mine for many years.

A real workhorse.

SameToo · 01/09/2022 17:54

@Bluevelvetsofa don’t mind but would prefer plug in.

@FlowerArranger thank you! I was thinking I wanted a Henry but was put off by the size so Henrietta is a shout. Are they bagless?

Can’t beat a hetty

miles better than my previous dyson

nomistake · 01/09/2022 17:58

Vax, super powerful

Bluevelvetsofa · 01/09/2022 18:21

We have a Hetty, but it annoys me because I’m always barking my shins on it. DH uses it, but I use a cordless Beko.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 01/09/2022 18:28

Miele complete c2, I love it and I was a dyson lady.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 01/09/2022 18:29

Hetty and Henry fall down stairs, Miele stands upright, nice and narrow. Something to consolidate you're not in a bungalow.

FlowerArranger · 01/09/2022 19:00

Hetty and Henry are not bagless, but the bag is HUGE.
I think I change it less than once a year.

Yup, but it smells really musty by the time it's emptied.

I dint think hetty is smaller than Henry, she's just prettier.

SwelegantParty · 01/09/2022 19:09

I love my Hetty! Although I wish she was better at corners....

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 01/09/2022 19:14

Very happy with my Shark after multiple Dysons. They usually have a model that’s on offer, around £199

whenwillthemadnessend · 01/09/2022 19:45

Cordless shark for wooden floor dog hair and quick carpet freshen

Henry range for deep clean and carpet

Unforgettablefire · 01/09/2022 20:32

Definitely a Henry. They last for years, don't lose suction and they're solid.

DeePlume · 01/09/2022 23:02

Sebo Felix. Great vacuum and comes in lots of designs if you like that kind of thing (I do)

autienotnaughty · 01/09/2022 23:33

We have Henry love him although he is a drama llama!! Can't stand shark not a dyson fan.

willowstar · 02/09/2022 08:48

Just replaced our ancient Henry (who broken when he fell out of the loft) with another Henry. Absolutely fabulous, wouldn't have anything else. £99.

SameToo · 02/09/2022 19:09

Im torn! I was leaning towards Henry, then hetty, but requiring a bag is not ideal. I much prefer bagless.

I like the Aeg one I bought from John Lewis recently

woodhill · 02/09/2022 19:17

No bag
