112yo dd, tourettes, sertroline and tiredness

Looking for some advice please.

Dd was diagnosed with tourettes a couple of years ago, during the day it's vocal tics, facial tics and shoulder tics. At night her legs tic a lot and every morning she is in pain with them.

4 months ago she saw a paediatrician and was put onto 50mg sertraline and melatonin.

Neither have made a difference and she has started to show OCD tendencies since being on the sertraline.

The last week or so she has been sleeping 16-20 hours a day.

I've called the doctors who have told me to leave it a week and they will do some tests if she is still tired. They have said to give the medication another 3 months.

I'm at the end of my tether, she has just started secondary school in the last few weeks, on a reduced timetable, but she still isn't managing a lot of school, especially this last week.

Nobody seems to be concerned and they just want me to wait it out.

Could the tiredness be related to the sertraline? The tourettes? I really don't know what to do, what to ask for, how to help her. Any advice would be great fully received. Thank you.
