Name change because it’s very outing. I’m currently a Regeneration Officer/ Project Manager in a local authority, earning just shy of £40k, in charge of pulling together and delivering regeneration capital projects (doing a bit of property, planning, funding agreement, finance, managing internal governance). I’ve got a background and degree in town planning as well.
I generally love my job, but there’s no progression at all. I’m also looking at moving internationally in a few years and this type of role doesn’t really exist overseas due to the nature of town centres in other countries.
So what can I easily retrain as with better career opportunities? I’ve been thinking maybe project management (or maybe even construction project management)? Or maybe surveying?
I would so welcome some suggestions and insight on what career you think I can easily transition to? What qualifications would I need and the salary potential of said career?
Thank you in advance!
