How do I book a city break?

I don't know where to start! I'd like to take the kids to Barcelona - where should we stay? It feels overwhelming - so many choices! Do I use Expedia? A travel agent? Something else? Any advice gratefully received.

I book city breaks with BA. Choose the "flight + hotel" option. Usually competitively priced and you'll get the 23Kg luggage allowance.

(I book direct on the BA website)

I just book flights/train and hotel separately. Find a nice hotel, make sure it’s not too far from airport and book it. Expedia are good for deals I think.

I've worked in travel and have never had issue booking things separately, but at the moment I wouldn't book anything but a package for the protection.

BA holidays, EasyJet Holidays, Jet2 (if they fly there?).

I agree, book your flight & hotel as package.
I have used easyjet holidays on several occasions (pre covid), they have always been good.

If you look on your local airport website there’s usually a list of destinations or route map which shows which airlines fly to where. Then go on the airline websites and book direct with them. Hotels I’d usually use booking.com as they often offer free cancellation, or even if you book direct with the hotel it can be useful for comparing prices and locating hotels on a map. Also check trip advisor reviews. There’s a good bus service from Barcelona airport into the city centre.
