Cancelling Sky

I have 8 months of my contract left. I have called today to talk about cancelling, even if I have to pay an early termination charge. They have refused. They offered to reduce my package to £27 a month. When I said no, he said £15 a month and that will basically reduce me to free view channels and keeping their Sky box until the contract ends. He wasn't interested.

I have asked for a supervisor to call me back. Has anyone successfully negotiated out of a contract at all?

I thought the sky plus box belongs to us and it is just sky q that needs returning?

Mine expires end of December and I am not going to renew no matter what they offer. Nice waste of £41 a month.

I think you can't cancel within the minimum term of the contract but if you broke the contract and stopped paying then you would be able to pay the fee and get it cancelled. I bet it'd be cheaper paying £15 a month for 8 months than to pay the fee although I don't know what the fee would be

I know someone who says that cancelling her sky contract was the hardest part of her divorce!
