House renovation stress ....

After living in our house for 2 years we are finally beginning to update.
Full rewire /bathroom and kitchen (whilst living in it )
Honestly I'm stressed
The old kitchen is now out and being replaced Friday ...today is the rewire completion but there's gonna be holes etc everywhere until plastering come tomorrow.
My whole life is packed in boxes
Then once it's done the decorating begins
I'm starting to regret doing it now
Has anyone been in this position?
How to think positive?
It will all get sorted won't it?

I’m a bit confused about your timescale, seems like everything will be done very quickly. Our full modernisation (which we lived in for) took 12 months start to finish, with 5 months in the middle with no kitchen and limited bathroom (one dodgy shower) for the first 9 months

The kitchen has taken a while to take out as we were just doing flooring a week then a few weeks later units etc

I’m away to join you in a couple of weeks. Lived in the house for over a year and have had it rewired and windows replaced, but have had to wait for our slot in the builder’s diary for the big stuff. It’s starting in 2 weeks so that’ll be internal walls coming down (3 of them) move/replace the kitchen and replace 2 bathrooms. I know it’s going to be carnage but my eye is firmly on the prize of it being finished and I can’t wait for it to happen!

The bathroom was done a few months ago but no tiles or flooring yet
Or working shower

Yes. 3 years in and no end in sight, but we’re doing it ourselves (around work and children). This isn’t the first house we’ve done either. Never again.

We recently finished some building works, although we still have some decorating to do.

All I can say, is that it will get easier and it will be worth it in the end. Just keep repeating that to yourself.

I'm in a similar position, no idea when the builders plans to return Sad obviously can't decorate until all the plastering is done. No end date in sight. Only good thing is at least children are back in school next week. Never ever want to do this again.
