Calling in poorly for placement / Student Nurse

Unsure if this is the correct area to post this..

I started my second week of placement this week and I've been up from 3am really sick and a high temperature.

No choice but to call in sick for my shift today and tomorrow.

How do you deal with feeling so anxious that you've made an awful first impression even though it cannot be helped? The trust policy states I must have 48hours from the last bout of sickness before I return to the ward.

Thank you 😊

I know the anxiety you feel and understand it. Please don’t worry - it happens sometimes. Just unfortunate timing. You don’t need to feel bad. Easier said than done I know. I hope you feel better soon.

The ward will be happier that you don't attend for placement if you are unwell, particularly with high temperature, it will be in their covid policy.
Regarding anxiety please don't worry, your assessor will understand, nearly every student nurse I've worked with has had to take time off sick, it can't be helped.
