Back to school

This is the last week of holidays for us. Me and dcx2 all back in on Monday. I'm ft so needs to run like a smooth military operation. I'm dreading it! I'm caught in between doing fun things this week and sensible must haves like batch cooking, preparing snacks, etc.
School uniform all done. But really need to sort my clothes out for school.
How's everyone else doing if its your last week?

I'm back Thurs. DS2 new school Fri. DS1 Monday.
Think all uniform is sorted. Need to top up lunch accounts. The rest, well, it will all happen, won't it......

DDs go back on Fri. Went out yesterday to buy the last few bits, I think we've now got everything, including replacement trousers for DD2 who has grown yet again 😭. She's starting Y7 so I've packed her PE bag for her, but I'm leaving DD2 (Y10) to sort herself out, it will only be wrong if I do it! Otherwise we are all sorted I think.

We're back next week - Monday for me, Weds for dd1 and Thurs for dd2.

I think we're mainly sorted apart from tights for dd2 (who knew grey tights would be such a pita to find!) & a jumper for dd1. I'll buy the jumper next pay day for delivery to school - save on postage.

I need to finish off a few resources I've been working on, we need to do a small shop for packed lunch stuff & I'll run the uniform through the machine to freshen up. Other than that, I think we're good to go.

It's the getting up that'd going to be a kicker. We're night owls. School means we have to be up with the lark.

Alarms being set now...

@lucysmam Try John Lewis online. I was in one of their (last remaining) shops the other day looking for black tights. There were heaps of grey ones. Ended up ordering black tights from then online which turned up promptly.

Thanks @OhTheLeetleHandsAndFeetle I'll look now. I was going to order navy from Matalan if all else failed & tell her to wear dd1's old navy skirt 🤣

My dd starts school Monday, ( she was 4 last week) I've been letting her wear her shoes round the house each day so they are comfy for Monday and we have been practicing getting uniform on/off, pe kit on/off, she is autistic and is seeing this as a game! We are also walking to school so the mornings are a rehearsal for monday!

Both DCs are back next Weds. We’re currently on holiday, get back early Sunday morning. I got all the school uniforms, PE kits and any new stationary ready before coming away. On the day they broke up in July I booked shoe fitting appointments at Clark’s for the week before coming away which was great as it wasn’t too busy and we had quite a range of shoes to choose from.

Thought I'd got everything but just realised I forgot tights for DD! Hopefully it'll be warm enough she can wear socks until they. One back in stock.

I am almost ready for next week, dc go back Monday!

im off work this week, I’ve struggled to find dc1 school trousers (my child has stupidly long legs and what fits on the waist is too short on the legs) and dc2 school shoes 🤦‍♀️ Who knew size 1’s with extra wide feet were hard to bloody find!

I haven’t actually buy much new school uniform as I did some shopping in the sales and picked up a fair amount to last us until Christmas maybe further into next year.

today and tomorrow both the kids have friends staying so we are putting the tent up in the garden so they can camp and I have a few fun things for them to do.

the weather changes later on in the week so will see what we want to do then.

DD is starting second year of college.
No uniform to get, all PPE from last year will still fit fine.

I'll have three DC's at three different schools with DS going into high school and getting back and forth alone for the first time. I'm having a mental breakdown.
