I'm looking at oodies for winter, but can't decide if wearing my dressing gown over clothes (what I did WFH last year) would be as warm but cheaper because I'm not buying anything new.

Are they loads Warmer?!

I’d say if you have a fluffy dressing gown then an oodie is no warmer (I have an off brand one which I really like, the official ones are so expensive!)

I've just bought some for me and the children from Primark having never had one before.

The main reason I think they will be better is just the fact that you don't have to tie them. I seem to get constantly annoyed with my dressing gown untying and flapping about. The children always end up taking their deessing gowns off for the same reason. The one i've bought myself also has cuffed sleeves so that I can roll them up if i'm washing my hands rather than getting the sleeves wet. I've bought the biggest size so that I can just put it on over my normal clothes.

I'm quite happy with them so far.

I prefer my (non branded) oodie as it is much more comfortable. If you do decide to go with one OP don't pay the money for an actual Oodie, I got mine off of an etsy seller for half the price and most shops do versions now too.

I was going to get one from dunelm but it was massive. I do want something as I don't feel that wearing my dressing gown all the time is a good look, but it definitely works.

Personally I prefer a onsie. I have a big black fleecy one and it's super warm over base layers and not too thick/bulky.

Much warmer than a dressing gown!

Thanks everyone, I've had a look on Dunelm & ordered one each for me & DD.

DH said he didn't mind using his dressing gown but I think he'll change his mind when he feels them 😁
