For bedroom - light and neutral. I was thinking wool because we have a synthetic one in front room I'm not a fan of but open to other suggestions. Thanks!

When we moved into this house, I had wool carpets laid in all the bedrooms. I shopped around, but Carpetright had a deal on, so bought carpet from them, underlay online and then got a local fitter. All good until the barstardy little fuckers moved in and started eating it. Battled against them, but admitted defeat and replaced with synthetic. so, if you do go for wool, be vigilant - you can buy sticky moth traps from Amazon. I would buy one or two for each room and put them out of the way at floor level. Check regularly.

The best carpeting advice I was ever given was to buy the most expensive underlay you can afford.

Wool sounds like a nightmare

So what's nice that's not wool? I don't know anything about carpets as never purchased any! Just know in the house we moved into we have some wool (I think) & some made out of something I don't like...

I've always had wool carpets and I've never had any problems with them at all.

Wool would be my choice, but you just need to be aware that They might be about.

My advice would be to go to a local carpet shop. We’ve just ordered carpet for our stairs and landing. The man has run the shop for 40 yrs, he knew exactly what he was talking about, came round to measure up for a quote and is making the carpet I chose into a runner. It’s not much more expensive, if at all, than the big chains.

Thanks @TheFairyCaravan
