TMJ pain

Had this on and off since seeing the dentist and hygienist a couple of weeks ago. Particularly sore today! I've had ibuprofen and Co codamol 8/500 but it still hurts. Heat is comforting and I'm massaging my jaw. Any other suggestions? At least it's stopping me eating crap 😉

Mine was sorted with acupuncture from my GP. One needle in the top of my head.

I had this after a dental appointment and I won’t lie it lasted several weeks. I had to post food in through the small space I could manage due to my locked jaw. I know they can inject with a muscle relaxant if it persists. It got better and now I’m really careful at the dentist.

Thank you. It's a bit better today. Irritating though!

Trigger points release( Google myofacial )
Massage the Sternocleidomastoid muscle
Dr can give you Baclofen muscle relaxants
Avoid stress ( I know impossible especially if you hold tension in your face muscles )
