I think my patience with this is much lower since hints came along!

How many of you routinely use hints? I never do and I wish they still included it in the stats as it was helpful to know whether people who got it way quicker than me had used hints! It made me feel a bit better. 😀

I hold off on hints until I'm over about 300 guesses or a couple of solid hours and still lost.

i generally ask for a hint at 50 if it is not going well, then 100, then 150 but it depends

I used one hint... I got two greens early on that I couldn't move past so took one at guess 45... which got me on track very quickly!

I had 965 early on but didn't find it helpful as it's only a sideways synonym. Had to go back to go forward in the end.
