My stomach is as tight as a drum. I look 6 mths pregnant. My farts are vile.

I had a wonderful schedule. Tea, vape, toilet - every morning, once a day, as regular as clockwork.

Now I look pregnant and I’m horribly constipated. I’ve done a few tiny little poos but nothing like i
should have

And to add to it I’ve got a mouthful of ulcers, I feel exhausted, my skin looks like shit, I’m anxious and need a bloody huge poo

Please help!

Peaches
Plums
Pears
Water

Lactulose (ask GP)
Coffee?

Isaidnoalready · 28/08/2022 23:25

Suppositories you can get them otc cheaply

fantasmasgoria1 · 28/08/2022 23:27

If you are that constipated buy some dulcolax and take 2 or 3. I suffer with it and depending on how constipated I am I may take 3. But if you do make sure you don't have anywhere to go because it can take a morning of going on and off but they clear absolutely everything.

To be fair, fybogel is brilliant 😂

ReginaPerrin · 28/08/2022 23:47

Much as I hate all this ‘good bacteria’ hard sell nonsense, I have to say that a yakult a day keeps the poo pains at bay. It’s something I’ve discovered since giving up smoking and it’s definitely helped to regulate things!

LondonQueen · 28/08/2022 23:50

You should probably go to a doctor.

RaRaRaspoutine · 28/08/2022 23:52

Hahaha I have the fybogel ad too now. Sorry OP. But fybogel is pretty good!! Two plums always solve the problem for me (after a few hours). Are you drinking enough water?

Kerrrmieee · 28/08/2022 23:55

A month?

That's really serious.
If you are only having tiny rabbit poos as I call them, then you definitely some lactulose or something. Dulcolax is hardcore, prepare yourself, stockpile the big roll and charge your phone.

Glycerin suppositories are good, but they only soften the outside bit.

Honestly get something and if that doesn't work see your GP as my son ended up with and impacted bowel (or something) he's an adult, luckily not wiping his bum any more!

TastesLikeFlavourlessFizz · 28/08/2022 23:56

Glycerin suppositories! And movicol, ideally.

TastesLikeFlavourlessFizz · 28/08/2022 23:56

Well if this isn't trolling I don't know what is.....

This is all very normal after giving up nicotine.

well done for giving up.

Definitely try some otc suggestions here or your GP if you are concerned.

Nat6999 · 29/08/2022 00:20

Don't take Dulcolax, ds gave me 2 once when I was bunged up, I spent a lovely evening doubled up in agony on the toilet with my head in a bucket. Dulcoease, Lactulose or those powders from the chemists. Keep drinking as much as you can, you can even try hot black coffee, extra strong with brown sugar, it does work.

Isaidnoalready · 29/08/2022 00:26

I think if its gone on this long you need to tackle it from both ends with the suppositories and an oral laxative dulcoease is good but it's very dehydrating if you don't drink enough you will feel dizzy and sick

FiveDollarMilkshake · 29/08/2022 00:28

Are you the poo troll? Very ingenious if so.

TastesLikeFlavourlessFizz · 29/08/2022 00:40

@Nat6999 I can’t take anything like that either. I don’t react well at all. And the pain…Christ! My pain tolerance is high but it’s really something else.

Isaidnoalready · 29/08/2022 00:41

I thought the poo troll got off on poo stories? Not medical advice

stoplittlepotstop · 29/08/2022 01:03

I've had chronic constipation my entire life. It only worsened when I started taking various meds in my teens, and then more and more over the years as I take several different meds which cause constipation on their own, never mind when taken together.

Fybogel.
Lots and lots of water, specially after the fybogel.
Some vaseline or anusol to lubricate your back passage.
And I was given an anal douche for putting water up there to help.

It's painful af, the first time you go after being bunged up for weeks. But the pain passes and it's worth it.
