Every year all the neighbours on our little square of 8 houses gift each neighbour a bottle of wine each, just leave on door step on xmas eve at night time ,am I being cheeky by regifting them prosecco that family have bought me for my birthday in March that I save as I don’t like or drink prosecco ,each bottle of prosecco costs about £10 ,the value of other wines gifted varies from £5 to £10 an i being unreasonable to regift ?

Of course you're not being unreasonable! You would be unreasonable if you gave them their bottle back again, especially if it was half an hour later!

Not at all, sensible really.

Of course YANBU.
It is very sensible to re-gift things you don't want (with caveats they are in date etc)

Everyone regifts wine.

That’s why if you actually open the wine someone gave you, it usually tastes shite.

If you don't like prosecco it's a really good idea and the money saved can buy you wine for yourselves for Christmas. I got some really nice Malbec in Marks for £6.67 instead of £10.
I used to get a case of prosecco from a relative on a number of occasions. Gave a couple away or used when we had guests. Also had it with fresh orange juice which was more drinkable IMHO.

Thank you all feel so much better at regifting also, elderly neighbour just put house on market as moving in with daughter ,so looks like we will be having new neighbours hope we can keep up the tradition as been doing if for 5 years so far xxx

Am fascinated by this.
Do you all open your front door on 9pm and find 7 bottles of wine sitting there ?

Why don't you tell your family that you don't like prosecco (assuming you've not already done that and they're ignoring you?)

Or say you've gone off it now and prefer wine? They could get you something you actually like then.
