Why is my standing charge so expensive?

53p a day electric,
48p a day gas!

im with eon next.

Are you sure your gas one is correct?
Are you on a fixed rate?
Mine are 49.38p for electricity and 27.22p for gas

yes unfortunately it’s correct,
no I’m not in a fixed rate I just send in the reading every month an pay.

Your gas one is above the price cap which is why I'm asking if you're on a fixed rate

P.s. by a fixed rate I mean that the price per kwh and standing charge are fixed rather than the payment you make each month.

The current price cap and the October one are here: even the October one is only 28p for gas

Electric is 27.44p per kWh
gas is 7.303p kWh
