Child benefit: when does it stop if dd does a levels?

I've tried to look it up, it says it stops after 16th bday?
But surely that would mean it stops when dd doing GCSEs?
And if she does a levels would it carry on ?
Ds is sept born and one of oldest in year.

I have tried to understand the information but no where can I see that clear info? And does it really stop when she's still in school for a year?

If she's continuing at school you need to tell them as it continues until age 19 or something if not in further education e.g. uni

Are you in England? I know it's on the Gov website quite clearly explained as I looked it up when I was in the same situation. I don't want to tell you from memory in case it's changed but it's easy to find

I think it’s the end of august after they’ve taken their A levels.

dementedpixie · 28/08/2022 08:40

They usually send a letter asking if they are staying at school and that means CB continues

Karwomannghia · 28/08/2022 08:41

Have you not had a letter? If you log in to the gov website you can update your details to say she’s in full time education for the next 2 years. You have to state the start date (usually 1st sept), the education provider and their address, and also month of last exam (likely to be 6/2024).

You get sent a letter about now after GCSEs asking you to confirm their next place of study and length of course. It will continue until end of August of A level results.

1st September after they finish their A-levels.

If she is 18 before then, they might stop automatically but you just need to give them a ring for them to extend to September.

Same applies to CMS’ CM and Tax Credits
