Have I had a miscarriage 10 weeks? *Content warning - graphic photograph*

Hi everyone

Im currently 10 weeks pregnant, I started bleeding (during intercourse) on Thursday was advised to call EPU have tried over 20 times per day since then & had no response.

The bleeding stopped the same night maybe after an hour or so, I then started slightly bleeding again tonight, not the same as the attached photos more like brownish old blood that you would maybe expect on the last day of your period not heavy just there when I wiped and a few spots on my underwear

I’m really scared and worried and feel like I’m stuck in limbo, a&e just refer me to EPU but so difficult when no one will answer. Thinking of booking a private scan

does anyone have any help or info on whether they think I may have miscarried, there is a string of clot in one of the photos but that is the only tissue to have passed

thank you x

I miscarried a long time ago - the bleeding stopped and started again for days until it happened. Red blood is more worrying, I think because it's fresh and coming faster. Stay positive - lots of women bleed in early pregnancy and have uneventful pregnancies after the first trimester.

Do you have any pain? I had fresh blood like that with my son around 11 weeks after intercourse. Luckily everything was fine and they put it down to the cervix being irritated x

Bless you. I bleed on and off with pain but didnt miscarry.

Def need to get to EPU.

I bled after sex early on in pregnancy. I was worried sick so paid for a private scan at 9 or 10 weeks. Nothing to worry about. I was told by the midwife sonographer that hormonal changes can make your cervix more sensitive and prone to slight bleeding.

I went on to have a healthy pregnancy and had my daughter at 40+1

Best get it checked out just to put your mind at risk.

Put your mind at ease, not risk

I had a miscarriage around 9 weeks that stopped and started. Bleeding one day then a break of a couple of days, more bleeding (a gush of blood) then nothing, then scan, no heartbeat.

Having said that - the fact that yours started during sex makes me wonder if it's coming from your cervix, although there's quite a bit of blood there if so. But there always looks like there's more when it's in water.

So in short, none of us can really say but you already knew that! I hope it's all fine OP. Some people just go through this and it turns out to be one of those things and their babies are totally fine.

Thank you all so much, you are all so lovely it makes me want to cry.

I’m not in any pain as such, no cramps but I do feel like there’s a little bit of something going on in my stomach but can’t quite describe it

I had an internal scan on the Monday and baby was healthy and riggly, heartbeat was strong it would really break my heart if 4 days later it all changed

Its sad and frustrating that EPU haven’t answered any of my calls it really makes me question what I’m supposed to do if they just don’t answer. My 12 week scan is two weeks away but two weeks is such a long time to wait so I think maybe book another private scan for this coming week

will keep you all posted, thank you all xx

I would say that is not enough blood or cramps for a miscarriage. I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks. In the morning, I lost the mucus plug (blob of pink jelly). Then I started bleeding a few hours later. The bleeding steadily increased with severe cramps, like labour. The next few days were like a normal period. I went to the minor injury centre who scanned me straight away. They reckoned the baby had died or stopped growing a few weeks earlier. I also felt less pregnant than with my other pregnancies. As your baby was fine a few days ago, hopefully all will be well. 🤞

I went to my GP who made me an appt at EPU.
Ring 111 they can also arrange for you to go Im pretty sure

I had brown blood at first with all my miscarriages, maybe 2 days of it & then started with red stringy blood & the pain started like period pain that came in waves & then gushes of blood every time I moved or stood up, the pain peaked & I had clots the size of a plum one of which I think was the fetus. After that the pain stopped suddenly & I bled for about 5 days.

great update. I was coming on to say you would have lost far more than that. I had a couple of miscarriages around 10-12 weeks and you are really aware of the loss, feels like your baby slips out of you🙁
