Is it normal to feel completely wiped out after D&V?

I posted earlier about some remedies for D&V. I had this really badly for about 5 hours last night, between the hours of 7pm-12am. Haven’t had any sickness or diarrhoea since 12am but wow, I feel so exhausted / drained / wiped out.

Even now I have zero appetite. Is this normal? I had sickness a few years ago and I remember it taking a few days to recover properly from that, but this feels like a different ballgame. Probably because I had such terrible diarrhoea as well.

All I have done is sleep today and still feel pretty awful.

Yes, totally normal. Get well soon

Normal. Horrible but normal. We all had the noro in the spring and we slept for days, completely wiped out and felt like I’d been turned inside out with burning eyes and a strong sense of my mortality.

Sympathy!

Goodness yes. You've effectively had no nourishment for several days and your gut is all irritated and out-of-sorts. Plus, as you say, the V and repeated D, rob you of sleep and rest.

Get some sleep and gently re-introduce some food.

I seem to be susceptible to stomach bugs and have one every 12 months or so ( I’m a teacher so front line 🤨😬) always wiped out afterwards for up to a week

Do you have any apple cider vinegar (or live culture kombucha)? Get that Ph and bacterial balance right in your digestive system again.
