the upcoming colder months are definitely been a worry for but in recent weeks it's not been at the front of my mind as I've had so much on in my personal life unrelated to the cost of living crisis that's consumed me, it's been towards the back of mind. We've been spending a lot more on food and diesel and had to make cut backs, very much a middle ground family - not low income but not high either. We do struggle.
our gas & electric bill has always been high I think. Was £100 PM a couple years ago 5£3! Went up to £150 now it's £250 - and this is before the winter. There is nearly always someone at home here! Tumble dryer is a big one here, I put my washing out as much as possible but not always easy and my kids go through a lot of clothes.. I have no room to dry everything indoors when it's cold and wet 😩
I was talking to a friend earlier who said she had been buying torches and candles for any black outs. How likely is that? That's quite daunting when I have two disabled children, bad enough for anyone.
also was talking about electric blankets, hot water bottles, dressing gowns erc.
are you going to prepare? Do you think everyone will be trying to buy these things soon?!
anyway, probs a pointless post. It's a really shit time for everyone. I really feel for older people and those on a low income! I am hoping we will be able to get through it!
anyway. How is everyone else feeling about it?
