Hi all

Off the back of the driving licence thread I have just gone to check my photocard and it has expired...2.5 years ago! For some reason there was only 5 years on it! Isnt there normally 10?! I passed my test 23 years ago. Am I allowed to drive? What do I do? Will I be in trouble?

TIA

To add, I can't remember if I had a paper licence? Does everyone? Even if I do I've no idea where it is 😩

They're issued for 10 years but if you had reason to return it (say for an address change), it will have a new date of issue.

Paper part of photo card licence no longer used, I believe.

I still use the (very) old green style paper licence!! 😆

You can be fined for driving with an expired licence , but can continue to drive once you've reapplied . My dh came back within 2 weeks.
