Hi!

I have just come across your post whilst searching for an answer to that same question. I am sorry you didn't get any replies, hopefully somebody will reply to mine. I started acrylic painting a year ago for fun, after never having done anything creative before in my life. Over the past year my paintings have improved and I have tried selling them on Etsy and Ebay. I didn't sell anything on Etsy and closed the shop down after 6 months, after having to pay Etsy for the privilege. I have sold quite a few paintings on Ebay but I am pretty much giving them away for nothing. People are looking to get the paintings for 99p plus postage. Last night I removed all my paintings from Ebay as I am fed up basically giving away my art work for nothing. I have given some of my paintings away to friends and family who have said that they like a particular painting, and I have quite a few up on my walls at home. I have stopped painting the last few weeks because I just don't know what to do with my art work. I have so many up now in my house I think that's enough, I don't think any of my friends and family want any more of them at the moment, and I don't want to throw them away.

What have you been doing with your art work?

Swap it in and out of your house? I've sold online, through galleries and at art fairs. I will often paint over anything a bit crap that I fall out of love with and use it for practice.
I still wonder what to do with old random paintings, sketchbooks etc. I can't bear to throw them away.
I've also lent a few paintings to friends who have them on their walls but I might gather up for art fairs etc. I'm v relaxed if they went missing or got damaged though.

That's great well done! I think I just need to get back to enjoying painting without thinking about trying to sell it, just painting for pleasure😀
