Bank Holiday Weekend Plans?

Apologies if someone has already done this. To be honest the BH weekend has sneaked up on me so I haven’t planned much. Currently arranging to meet 2 old friends for a belated birthday celebration for one of them. We’re hoping to have pizzas at a pop up place on a local beach tomorrow & have a swim, probably late afternoon/ early evening. Nothing going on today. Working 4 hours on Sunday & I might suggest a picnic on Monday with BBQ for tea. We haven’t had a BBQ this year. I have next week off so that will be a good way to start my break.

Im hiking today, tomorrow planning a walk and swim with the DC, Monday probably staying home as everywhere will be busy then we'll have a family day on Tuesday probably local attraction and pub lunch. Dh and I are both self employed so we tend to try and work on days like BHs and have a quieter day out another day

I have the weekend off but am working Monday (nurse), i didnt even realise it was a bank holiday weekend! Both my teens are away so I am all alone and I am going to relish in the peace and quiet. I am going for a run this morning along the river then I shall swan about the house doing fuck all relaxing. Utter bliss 😁

HelloSpringIveMissedYou · 27/08/2022 07:16

BBQs, walks and cleaning is the plan for my bank holiday.

Ragwort · 27/08/2022 07:19

I am working today, DS is playing cricket and DH will watch him ... then we have friends arriving from overseas on Sunday ... haven't seen them for a few years so really looking forward to it. Stocked up with lots of lovely food and wine so hopefully a relaxing few days (booked annual leave).

hellsbells99 · 27/08/2022 07:21

The 1 DD who lives at home has gone away and the 1 DD who lives away is coming home today so DH and I will take her out for dinner tonight. She actually popped in on her way past to her boyfriends last night and dropped off lots of washing so I will start that this morning 😂. Otherwise we are painting and decorating all weekend, although DH is working on Monday.

AuntieMarys · 27/08/2022 07:26

Absolutely none. Dh is working. I shall go to the gym every morning and read books all afternoon. There may e wine.

lilroo87 · 27/08/2022 07:32

Haven't planned anything for today, tomorrow we have some family visiting and then Monday we're meeting with friends for a picnic

MissyB1 · 27/08/2022 07:33

My dh is abroad for a week (working), ds is away at camp with cadets.

So my sister has come to stay for the bank holiday with me. Today we are going to a National Trust place, meal out booked for tonight. Tomorrow will be mooching around a local market, and cooking a new recipe together in the evening.
Monday we are going out to a posh farm shop where they serve excellent coffee and cake!

Got the village fete this afternoon lots going on there. Maybe a few drinks this evening when the music starts.

serafinarose · 27/08/2022 07:43

At home with poorly DS so cleaning, batch cooking. Lunch with eldest DD on Tuesday then hair appointment. Back to work Wednesday.

Very similar to you OP, I’m meeting friends for a belated birthday celebration to swim at the seaside and eat! My partner’s got the baby for the day 🙌🏼 we’re off to a local vintage fair tomorrow and Monday will probably go for lunch and avoid anywhere likely to be packed out with people (I.e. our local pub)

PointerSister · 27/08/2022 08:13

Local country show for us this afternoon. Went last year and thoroughly enjoyed it plus dog friendly so win win! Lots of shows etc around us this weekend so have the choice of a steam fair at the end of the weekend or maybe just a walk somewhere. Tbh just spending time with the family and making the most of it before school starts up again will be nice 😊

AceofPentacles · 27/08/2022 08:15

Going to a new moon sound bath tonight 🤩

MrsSplendiferous · 27/08/2022 08:16

Mouching in second hand shops , then local fete , just a relaxed long weekend after that

LateSummerLobelia · 27/08/2022 08:21

Quietish for us I think.

I am about to take the Dcs out for sausage sandwiches at a cafe while DH (who usffers from insomnia sleeps). Then housework and maybe a walk.

Tomorrow we have a friend's garden to visit as it is open for charity, then lunch out with friends of DHs who are down from London.

Monday I need to pack as am taking the Dcs away for a last minute city break next week. DH has a mad week on and so the quiet house will be good for him and I have alot of time off in lieu up my sleeve and a quiet working week so managed to wangle it from my usually unsympathetic boss (although to be fair I pulled her out of the fire a few weeks back so she admits herself she owes me!).

VivaMazVegas · 27/08/2022 08:55

Agricultural show today. I’m looking forward to it. Who doesn’t love amusingly shaped vegetables, best in class sheep and lovely sponge cake!
