Hello
The fam has been getting bitten up in recent weeks and I strongly suspect it's chiggers/harvest mites. The bites are usually single or a small number in a relative cluster, are NOT multiple bites in a line (i.e. bed bugs), and tend to be on the torso or upper legs - i.e. under waistbands, nappies, underwear, etc. I also have yet to actually see a bug (that rules out fleas then? We don't have pets) We went away on holiday recently and had no new bites, and now that we've come back home the bites seem to be reappearing so there's something going on in this house.
I'm washing bedding in a hot wash and tumble drying, but I guess I need to do this with all clothes as well? What about upholstered furniture? Rugs and carpets? I'd love to avoid harsh chemicals if possible as my DS is only little and plays on carpeted floors, but maybe that's what needs to happen?
Any advice hugely appreciated. I hope I don't have to wait til winter for whatever these things are to go away!
