Why so long?

Why does it take so fucking long for the Conservative party to elect a new leader? It's absolutely appalling. It's not like these are candidates/people new to the scene.

I'm so angry at them - party management , party members - taking their own sweet time while the country slides into chaos.

Can anyone explain why it takes so long? A week. That's what I'd give them. Here are the candidates - pick your favourite 5 in order of pref and let's fucking GO.

They take so long I assume to let the MPs jockey for favour and to "sell" their support to the candidates.

God how I loathe the Tory party.

It does seem bizarre that they boot out various candidates quite quickly, then it takes forever to decide between the last two.
What the flip are they waiting for? Someone needs to run the country; Boris has given up!

Was Boris ever fully there? I feel like it's been like watching a 5 year old run the country after consuming a bag of skittles

Oh god no! I didn't mean for one minute to imply that he was doing any sort of competent job; merely that someone had, at least, been charged with the task of running the country.
