Low. Just looking for hope really.

Many, many times and sometimes in the most wonderful ways. I can pray for you, if you would like.

BettyBoomerangBoo · 25/08/2022 22:16

No. Prayers don't work at all.

Penguintears · 25/08/2022 22:17

Yes. I've had lots of prayers answered and known people who've experienced miracles as well.

PiggyPokkyFool · 25/08/2022 22:19

Yes I have many times - in difficuly moments I always think of that line from the hymn: Call out to the Lord and the Lord will hear you. Call out and he will answer, Here I am.
I never feel alone.

greenhi · 25/08/2022 22:20

@Thejoyfulstar ♥️ I’m feeling so lost, guilty, afraid. I’ve prayed and nothing changes.

@Penguintears @PiggyPokkyFool ive tried often, maybe not as dedicated as my mind is all over the place but I feel horrendous. Feel guilt and sadness and worry.

Yes all the time. God is great, keep praying and he will answer

Smogtopia · 25/08/2022 22:22

Yes - really specifically once and I've been blessed in many many other ways too.

Do you want to talk about what's going on?

greenhi · 25/08/2022 22:25

@bethereonthedoublepawpatrol When? The pain is unbearable.

@Smogtopia my relationship broke down and we have a small baby. I said awful things he did awful things but nothing insurmountable, just arguing. I love him so much. I can’t bear our baby having their first Christmas without him. My heart honestly breaks all the time. I miss my lovely family now he’s gone. There’s nobody else, he’s struggling too with personal things. The whole thing is really sad and I’d give everything to hold him and start again.

Yes, when I prayed hard and really asked for help, my prayers were answered. It’s not an instant thing though. Be patient and please be kind to yourself. Everything passes.

greenhi · 25/08/2022 22:28

@Ilikecheeseontoast how do I pray. How often. I just feel like it can’t get worse then it does

Pray and pray again. Sometimes I'll just talk as a prayer, explain everything that's going on in my life and in my read. Just remember they will be answered in some ways, things get hard but having hope and trust is what gets us through. Pray in anyway that brings you comfort. I hope you feel better soon

Timeandtune · 25/08/2022 22:31

Yes. I have had my prayers answered specifically about one concern ( my DH’s health) and generally in many other ways.
It’ll be alright in the end. And if it’s not alright, it’s not the end .

Thejoyfulstar · 25/08/2022 22:31

Pray for God to comfort you and give you strength. Then ask Him to bring about the outcome that is best for you and for you to have peace about it.

Penguintears · 25/08/2022 22:33

Prayer is just having a conversation with God. You don't need to use any special words. Just pour out your heart and your feelings to him.

Perhaps read one of the four gospels in the Bible? You can read it online if you don't have a copy. I would recommend the NIV translation but you also might like the Message translation which is quite different and more modern.

Marinamountainzoo · 25/08/2022 22:33

Yes and no.

I believe the universe gives me what I need, not what I want. Usually the strength to cope with a situation, rather than changing the situation IYSWIM.

I think reading the Gospels is a great idea too. I use the New Living Translation which I really relate to. Reading the Psalms is also great when you feel low...they go through every emotion and cover feelings of being abandoned by God, of shame, guilt and hopelessness too.

greenhi · 25/08/2022 22:36

I just want me and him to start over, to give our family a chance, for him to be better mentally and me. I have asked for help in prayer but only half heartedly , not sure I believe which probably writes me off for any help anyway

Yes, this is what I pray for. I know they say the lord hears you, but I feel selfish asking for specific things. I just ask for guidance.

In answer - I can't say yes specifically because I don't ask for specific things , but I have received the most important blessings and that's my 3 kids that I struggled to conceive.

Horcruxe · 25/08/2022 22:37

Yes lots of times, even when it seemed impossible.

I've been really blessed/ lucky I think.

The only caveat is I only ask for things that are possible. No point in asking for something that is actually impossible.

This.

Sometimes the best outcome isnt the outcome that you would expect, or had been praying for.

greenhi · 25/08/2022 22:41

@Horcruxe is what I’m asking for impossible do you think?

Nothing is impossible, I don't know your situation but sometimes what you want is not always what you need right now. Praying can be helpful as you're able to put your trust into someone that can help, things will get better, we don't always understand why things are going wrong but everything happens for a reason!
I've had some tough times where I felt lost but I look back now and think of how much I've grown and learnt from those hard times. Keep praying x

sorrysaythatagain · 25/08/2022 22:46

Yes for some things. I pray and somehow things work out.

The biggest things I pray about - to be moved from my cramped flat with two kids and a good man/loving relationship I'm still waiting for those to be answered.
Single 10 years so here's hoping 🤞🏽

greenhi · 25/08/2022 22:48

@sorrysaythatagain what sort of thing gs have been answered?
