Coldplay tickets - are they easy to sell/swap?

Hottytotty · 25/08/2022 12:04

Daft question, but I’ve just spent this morning struggling with the latest release of Coldplay tickets, and have ended up with 5 tickets for a night when I think we may not be able to go! It was such a bun fight that I was grateful to get any but am now worried that they are for the wrong night Confused
Anyone had experience of selling/swapping tickets? They are through Ticketmaster if that makes a difference.

When and where?

Abraxan · 25/08/2022 12:11

Just check the resell conditions on your purchase. Not all tickets can be easily resold privately - some require ID etc. I am not sure how strict venues are with checking but have heard of people sent away on the night.

Ticketmaster normally have a verified resale option, where you go through their site.

It is to avoid ticket touts buying and reselling for higher prices.

I’ve been through the same bunfight this morning @Hottytotty , I added insurance in the hope that if we can’t make that date it’ll be easier to get a refund. Did you do that too?
Was a very stressful 15 minutes.

I couldn't get any

Hottytotty · 25/08/2022 12:26

Sorry, the ones I got were for Sun 4th June at the Etihad in Manchester, and I did add the insurance so hopefully that provides more options. I wanted ones earlier in the week as my DD has her GCSEs so won’t be wanting to cavort off to Manchester on a Sun night (we aren’t local). I’ll hang on to them for now and would be happy to resell officially at face value but ideally getting some for the 31st May/1st June/3rd June instead.

Fifteen mins? You were lucky - I was in two queues (on phone and laptop) for over an hour 😳

I was one 2 sites for over an hour. When I got in the seats left weren’t very good so I didn’t bother.
It would have been nice to go but I’m not too upset

VaulterTech · 25/08/2022 13:04

We sold a spare ticket for the recent gigs on the official resale site and it was fine, snapped up within mins of putting it on.

Badger1970 · 25/08/2022 22:33

I've sold back to Ticketmaster, or you can sell on Twickets at face value too.

I've got Bruce Springsteen tickets for next year but it's an arse because it's a Wednesday night and in London. We're in Gloucestershire and have to be at work the next day (our own business) as our manager is off that week. DH is muttering already about it being a PITA so I'm hoping I can swap with someone for the weekend.

SpiritOfEdna · 26/08/2022 06:08

@Hottytotty if you are interested in reselling and it’s straightforward, please let me know, I queued for the same dates/location but was unsuccessful. It was my one and only idea for a big birthday gift for someone and now I’m stumped!

FromBHStoNHS · 26/08/2022 06:16

It’s really easy to resell on ticket master or twickets. Risk free (as in, it’s not a dodgy site). I used twickets sells 2 tickets and they were sold within 20 minutes.

You won’t be able to swap them sadly and I wouldn’t try with someone on the Internet because they could just take your tickets and you end up with nothing

Hotandbothereds · 26/08/2022 06:27

My niece wanted some and couldn’t are you looking to sell? Genuinely, I was planning on keeping an eye out nearer the time!

Hotandbothereds · 26/08/2022 06:29

Just tied to pm you @Hottytotty and it won’t work?

Hotandbothereds · 26/08/2022 07:12

Ignore me, think my pms were being weird!!

SierraSapphire · 26/08/2022 07:32

I tried for that date and didn't get any either. The adding additional dates and queuing was a joke. DD was number 42,000 ish in the queue, got down to 20,000 and was chucked out. I lost my place when they announced the 3 June but the way it was set up I assumed you had to go back out and select that specific date, as I'd selected a specific date first off. By the time I was in there were only a few tickets left but when you clicked on them they'd already gone.

Anyway, I would also love two tickets for any of the Manchester dates! People on Twitter said that some tickets were already on resale at higher prices before the official sale was even completed. It's infuriating. It was supposed to be a treat for me and DD after I finish cancer treatment.

PrettyasaPainting · 26/08/2022 07:43

We went to Wembley on Saturday, we got our tickets on Twickets only a couple of weeks ago, I think the rail/tube strikes forced a lot of people to alter their plans.
We tried for Manchester yesterday but were 200,000 ish in the queue and they'd gone within an hour.
Amazing show if you were lucky enough to get one.
But try Twickets later if you didn't.

MooFroo · 26/08/2022 07:56

@Hottytotty my daughter queued for hours too online and got kicked off when she finally got through!
we were trying to get 5 tickets so would be interested if you are selling them all?

thanks so much

SierraSapphire · 26/08/2022 08:00

The final tickets were still on sale about 12.30. I had to go out at 11.30 and left my laptop running, I was still in the queue when I got back at 12.15 and got let in shortly after. If you refreshed, tickets were appearing - presumably where people had held them but ultimately not paid for them, but others were obviously quicker at clicking on them than I was!

Charleyfox · 26/08/2022 13:57

If anyone has 4 tickets for the Etihad for any date I would love them. Spent 3 hours trying yesterday to no avail. Very disappointed teenage daughter. Thanks! 🙏

underneaththeash · 26/08/2022 15:08

My DS has just done GCSEs and that week after half term was absolutely loaded with exams..I think he had 9.
Find something for after exams are over.

Hottytotty · 27/08/2022 20:01

Hi all, sorry completely forgot to check this thread. Thanks for all the advice re reselling. I think I’m going to hang onto them for a bit, see if we can get tickets for another date, and will then resell them via the official site. (And also see what DD’s exam timetable is looking like when that comes out).

I just had a smoose to get tickets for my daughter and I.
Seriously £400 per ticket? I love Coldplay (long term fan) but these prices in cost of living crisis and their supposed ‘ethics’.

I’d rather send the money to Wateraid.

MrsDThomas · 04/09/2022 21:06

I bought 2 for one night on my app and another 2 on the laptop. I wasn’t allowed to buy 4. It chucked me to another date (hadn’t noticed) and they were for my kids so they cant go. I sold them to my friend. She’s already paid in full and I sent her a screenshot of the tickets but they’re not available to transfer ATM

PussInBin20 · 04/09/2022 21:30

I’ve got two Harry Styles tickets that I want to sell on Twickets but they are mobile tickets and although I know the seats, the actual QR codes are not showing yet and says “don’t worry they will be there at least 3 days before the show”.

Does this mean I have to wait until then to sell/transfer them anyone know?
