Back to school positivity thread

I'm getting to the I need a break from the children for a few hours part of the holidays. I'm a single parent and full time carer for my mum and am ready for some time to myself. I gain weight in the holidays because I no longer have the long school hike and feel/look fat and out of routine as well as shape.

So here's my list of positives for back to school: (there's negatives too but I'm focusing on the positives)

Back to routine

Eating breakfast together at the table

Energising morning walk through the woods to school seeing if we spot the heron on the canal, river or pond

Enjoying the walk back home in solitude followed by a cup of tea with no interruptions

Not having to think about lunches Monday to Friday

Seeing my teenager before midday 🙄

Losing the weight I've gained this summer from not doing the school run

Ds charging at me for a hug when he's let out of school

Having a good chance of winning fitbit bingo due to being back to normal activity levels

The house being tidier

Prepping for Christmas

I will be able to drink a full mug of tea in peace.

I will be able to eat my lunch without being hit on the back.

I will be able to finally catch my breath.

I won't have to cope with his tantrums in public.

Youngest is 11 but has the developmental age of a 2 year old. I'm a single mum and I'll admit it's been tough. That said I know I will miss him and worry myself silly when he starts his new special school in just over a week.
