And working tax credit? It says on the website that you have to claim both to have both. But what are they? Do you have to be on low income? What is it?

you have to claim Universal credit now
CTC is being fased out

You can’t make a new claim for child tax credit as far as I understand. Everything is universal credit now.

(We still receive tax credits but eventually this will change to UC).

Unlikely but not impossible if you have disabled children, high rent, high childcare costs, lots of kids born before April 2017 or a combination of some or l all of these.

Also if you have savings over 16k you cannot claim UC.
